Charlotte E. Hajer, PhD
Charlotte Hajer was born and raised in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, but has been in the US for 20 years, and has lived in Northern California since 2011. Her immigration experience spurred an early interest in identity and belonging, which led her to pursue a BA in Human Development from the University of Chicago, followed by a PhD in Cultural Anthropology from the University of California, San Diego. Her dissertation research brought her to Morocco, where she studied the way women navigated changing gender norms. Passionate about building communities where all people feel seen, celebrated, and included, Charlotte has worked in the nonprofit sector for over 9 years. Through her work with organizations in San Francisco and Napa County, she brings broad experience with organizational management, strategic planning and impact evaluation, staff development, fundraising, and storytelling.
