Our Commitment to Teachers
The Sonoma Community Center is committed to supporting the independent artists that make our programs possible by offering competitive pay options. These pay options include:
- Flat rate per class.
- 60 / 40 split of total registration fees.
- Hourly & Prep rates per hour.
Thank you to the instructors who opt to teach their classes pro-bono, donating their time to the Community Center.

Our Commitment to Accessibility
The Sonoma Community Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, a majority of our funding is from grants and donors like you.
The Center also receives a small portion of it’s budget from the City of Sonoma to manage it’s Parks & Recreation department.
Between July of 2024 and June of 2025, our programming:
- costs $14.30 on average per hour of class time.
- offers 7 hours on average of total class time per registration.
- awarded 200+ scholarships to adults & children
- paid instructors $409 on average per class taught.
The cost of programs at the Sonoma Community Center are intended to cover the costs of the instructors and materials.
On average, after covering those expenses, the center received roughly 21.5% of the total registration fees. These funds go towards the costs of maintaining our historic building, staff, and our scholarship fund.
The center offers arts programming for all ages and skill levels.
