Come spend a few relaxing hours at the beautiful textile arts studio at Sonoma Community Center and build your own practical crossback apron. Be energized by the company of fiber lovers by adopting slow fashion thinking into making your own lovely workhorse apron. You will learn a few embroidery stitches and basic applique techniques for embellishment and how to put in a side pocket or a patch pocket.
Basic machine knowledge is required. Patterns provided and the sewing machines too!
Pia Andersson has a master’s degree in Textile Arts and Textile Engineering from Sweden and has taught textile techniques (with a focus on machine and hand sewing) to children and adults in Marin and in Sweden. She has also worked for many years in commercial textile product development. She has a passion for bringing out people’s creativity and crafting artful communities.
