During this engaging course, students will learn a variety of pottery techniques ranging from pinch pots to throwing on the potter’s wheel. Studio etiquette, surface design and glazing will all be covered through structured projects.
Participants will finish with a better understanding and appreciation for the ceramic medium and its processes as well as a collection of their very own ceramic ‘masterpieces’.
Participants will become familiar with the ins and outs of our wonderful ceramics studio in order to practice on their own. Tap into the wonderful world of clay and begin to understand how to make beautiful pots in this fun and intensive class!
With this 8 week class, students receive 8 complimentary drop-in days to practice, valid through the duration of the class.
$30 materials fee due at registration covers your first bag of clay, firing, and glazes. Additional clay may be purchased as necessary.
Deborah Donahower received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara in Studio Art, with an emphasis in Ceramics, Printmaking and Pastels. She has been teaching art to Adults & Children for 40 years and it is her passion to empower budding artists with the basic foundation skills in Art, and help them bloom into their own creativity & personal style.
