From Conflict to Connection: Transforming Differences into Building Blocks
The failure to effectively manage the differences that occur between people is the primary cause of failed or damaged relationships of all kinds. This workshop is designed for anyone who seeks to enhance their knowledge and skill level in creating meaningful and productive dialogues in their relationships, particularly in those circumstances where there are differing or opposing values. These relationships includ personal, work realted, social, political or intimate. The workshop will off tools and strategies that have been proven to be effective in promoting outcomes that satisfy the needs and concerns of both parties, even when situations and circumstances seem hopeless. The workshop mix of lecture, experiential exercises, handouts, and time for quesitons and answers offers an in-depth exploration of dealing with conflicts in a constructive and solution-oriented manner.
Linda Bloom LCSW and Charlie Bloom MSW are relationship counselors, seminar leaders, and authors of several books, including 101 Things I Wish I Knew When I Got Married, That Which Doesn’t Kill Us, and others. They have been married since 1972 and have lectured and taught seminars together across the country and throughout the world. They moved to Santa Cruz from Sonoma in 2004, and Charlie was an early board member of Praxis Peace Institute (2000-2007).
