This expressive watercolor course will show you the basic building blocks of watercolor and how to work with this unpredictable medium. The style of class is paint-a-long and each week we will paint a new subject. We will explore birds, flowers, fruit, and leaves.
There is no experience necessary or drawing skills needed. You will learn how to allow the free flowing beautiful paint to create unique results. You will experiment with the following techniques: washes, negative painting, glazing, color mixing, wet in wet, value analysis, mark making, scoring, texture and more! This class will show you how enjoyable painting can be!

Colleen Gianatiempo grew up on the East Coast but soon after graduating with a business degree from the University of Massachusetts, curiosity led her West to live the California lifestyle. In furthering her education, Colleen received a certificate in Graphic Design from Otis Parsons School of Design in Los Angeles, which led her to start her own firm creating design within the disciplines of fine art, graphic art, interior design, photography and arts instruction. She is still going strong after 26 years. Passion for fine art led her to the Academy of Art in San Francisco where she received a Master of Fine Art in Painting. Her mixed media work embodies bold color, varying texture, layers of shapes, and patterns. Her work has been exhibited in multitude of solo and group shows and is in numerous public and private collections.
