About the class
Curious about creating a Trashion Fashion runway outfit or an upcycled Trashion Barbie and don’t know where to start? We offer free open design studios where you can find your Trashion community, work and collaborate as well as demonstrations with hands on advice from past Trashion designers. Come and have access to space, tools, supplies and recycled materials or BYOT (Bring your own Trash!).
Trashion Design Studio #2 is all about Accessorizing the Story! Part of the fun of Trashion Fashion is the story you create with your outfit. Whether it’s jewelry, a walking stick, or an incredible hat, each piece adds another level to the tale you tell on the runway. Props and accessories can help you feel more confident, take your design to the next level, and give you something to play with on stage to interact with the audience. Veteran trashion fashion runway show designer Cat Smith will display her accessories from 4 years of participation. Maybe, just maybe, she will share a piece of what she’s working on for 2025! Accessories are everything, darling! Topics covered may include: the best adhesives, using social media to gather supplies, seeing garbage through an artistic lens, and so much more!
Come to one open studio or come to all three!
Limited Space – RSVPing is recommended.
Trashion Open Studios are supported by a grant provided by Creative Sonoma
