Have you heard about the latest trend in printmaking called gel printing? Explore this hands-on, unique and playful Gelli plate monotype method that will encourage your creativity to flow and flourish. Learn to make one-of-a-kind prints without the use of a printing press! This fun workshop will teach you how to layer colors using a variety of techniques and tools to create vibrant abstract works on paper.
Experiment with textures in fiber, plants, stencils, discarded packaging materials and more! We will also explore image transfers and how you can use your prints to collage or create beautiful pages for art journaling. This is a great class for beginners or even more experienced artists who are interested in learning a new technique. Come and experience the joys of Gelli printing and leave with a stack of beautiful prints! No prior printmaking experience necessary. All materials are provided. There will be a one-hour lunch break – please bring a bag lunch.

Kelly Autumn is a Northern California multidisciplinary artist based in Oakland and Santa Rosa. Kelly received her BA in Fashion & Textile Design from San Francisco State University and her AA in Studio Art with an emphasis in Printmaking from Diablo Valley College. She is an exhibiting artist throughout the Bay Area. Since 2020, Kelly has been an Artist in Residence with the Sonoma Community Center and currently works as an instructor and creative coordinator within the Youth Arts and Print Studio programs at the Center. She is also a teaching artist with the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art and serves on the Board of Directors of the California Society of Printmakers.
