About the class

From a young age, girls learn the secrets of spices, the rhythm of rolling chapatis, and the art of balancing flavors alongside their mothers and grandmothers. These lessons go beyond recipes; they’re a celebration of culture, family, and love shared through food.

Join Mina, a talented home cook with years of experience, as she welcomes you into her kitchen to prepare Pav Bhaji—a beloved Indian street food and comfort dish. This flavorful vegetable curry is a vibrant medley of mashed potatoes, tomatoes, peas, bell peppers, and aromatic spices, slow-cooked to perfection and served with buttery, toasted buns (pav). Rich, tangy, and slightly spicy, Pav Bhaji is a dish that warms the heart and delights the senses.

In this hands-on class, you’ll learn:

  • The secret blend of spices that give Pav Bhaji its signature taste
  • Tips for achieving the perfect texture and consistency
  • How to toast the pav (buns) for an authentic finish
  • The cultural significance of this dish in Indian households

After cooking together, sit down and savor the delicious meal you’ve prepared, just like a family gathering in an Indian home. Whether you’re a seasoned cook or a beginner, this class is a wonderful way to connect with Indian traditions and enjoy a homemade feast.
