Monoprint with Water Soluble Graphite

Water soluble graphite is an easy medium to use in a variety of ways. It is easy to design with it on an acrylic plate and then transfer to moist paper using the printing press. You can make corrections and adjustments as you work on the plate. You will learn the possibilities of working with water soluble graphite as well as learn how to operate the press. Clean-up is easy. All materials will be provided, but students may want to bring sketches, photos, or other images to work from. The plates you will use are 4×6 inches and 7×9 inches if you want to size your images to make them fit.
