In this introductory class, students ages 13 -17 will learn the basics of using the potters wheel to create functional pottery. Rose will guide students through the fundamentals of creating pottery forms on the wheel through demos, drills, and personal work time. This is a great opportunity to try your hands at something new and exciting; with guidance and help along the way. Students will be able to complete items from start to finish!

Instructor
Rose Gitlin is a ceramic artist and educator based in Sebastopol. She enjoys the community that is created through collaboration with others as well as the process of sourcing and testing local materials. She holds a BFA and a Post-Baccalaureate in Ceramics from the University of Montana, Missoula and currently teaches ceramics classes at Create It in Sebastopol as well as the Sonoma Community Center.
