Instructor:  Colleen GianatiempoPainting nature in the abstract offers as many individual interpretations as there are artists. In this two-hour virtual workshop, discover a new approach to creating an abstract landscape snow painting that will put you in the Holiday mood.

Experience abstracted snow painting through a demo, slide show, guided exercises and personal experimentation!  You will gain hands-on experience with new techniques, materials, and tools. Class discussions will focus on seeing and reacting, composing images, abstracting and simplifying shapes, and using unconventional color and mark making. No prior painting or art-making experience necessary! Gather the items shown on the supply list and you’ll be ready for a fun evening of artistic exploration from the comfort of your home.

As an artist, I live my life the same way I paint, by embracing the mystery, staying open to change, finding courage, honoring my intuition and trusting the journey.  This mindset has led me to my colorful, layered, contemporary, distinctive style.

Art has always been a part of my life paralleling my development as a person, through education, raising children and working professionally as a graphic designer.  I am honored to hold an MFA in non-figurative abstract painting from the Academy of Art in San Francisco.  With three degrees in tow, I have all the knowledge I need to operate my fine art practice and teach and inspire students from around the globe.  I now live and work in St. George, Utah.
