Instructor: Jessica Jones
Flower Spray: a decorative flat arrangement of flowers and foliage. Flower sprays can be used to adorn a hat, jean jacket, fascinator, coat lapel, hair piece, a handbag, anything that needs a little color and blooms.
We will learn to make 5 different petals, buds and leaves from a 3-pattern circle set sewing 9 pieces which we will then tack together on fabric or crinoline. We will use a simple thin cotton muslin in this class or if you want color, thin fabrics in any colors are fine. The goal is to get you to sew multiple pieces, affix and assemble on the crinoline to make your flower spray.

Jessica has been making hats for over 10 years, both felt and straw for anyone who loves wearing hats. All hats are hand blocked using traditional millinery techniques and each is a unique one-of-a-kind peice of art for the head! She loves the art of hand-made ribbon or fabric flowers so each head peice with flowers or ribbon work are all hand sewn and designed by her. A believer in repurposing unused textiles, she loves to find odd buttons, pins, brooches, old jewelry or anything with character to adorn the flower center and any fabrics peices, ribbons or any textile with fun texture is a find!
