JEN COLE: A LIFE IN PRINTS

Sonoma Community Center is pleased to announce a new gallery exhibit featuring a variety of mono prints, etchings and collagraph works by Master Printer Jen Cole. The exhibit will open Thursday, March 5th with an opening reception from 5:30-7:30 pm during the Chamber of Commerce’s ArtWalk. In all, the exhibit will run March 5-28, 2020. The artist will give a brief talk about her career and work on view at 6:00 pm.

This unique gallery show will feature colorful, graphic, abstract prints — primarily monotypes and etchings embellished with multimedia techniques — from the artist’s extensive body of work. All works by the artist will be for sale.

Jen Cole worked as a fine arts printer for about 10 years after completing her graduate work at San Francisco State. She is currently going into her 10th year as an Artist in Residence at Kala Art Institute. Her other residencies include Vermont Studio Center, Playa Art Residency in Oregon, the Women’s Studio Workshop in New York, and Empriente in Luxembourg. She finds printmaking to be a perfect media for mixing and blending different techniques together for intriguing and experimental results.
