Children will explore ancient traditions of clay as we provide a positive, energy-filled studio for an authentic art experience. Students will learn how to make pottery using slab, coil, and pinching techniques to make functional art objects such as succulent planters, cups, and teapots.The culinary portion of the camp will take place in our professional kitchen as the students will, cook, bake, and concoct delicious recipes from scratch.

Cristina has been teaching ceramics and art for nearly a decade. She is currently teaching at elementary schools in Sacramento, Placer, and Sonoma Counties, and is providing lessons and workshops, from her home studio in the Sierra Nevada Foothills. Cristina has been teaching at the Sonoma Community Center for the past three years and brings her passion for color and form to her young students.
Cristina’s educational background is in Art Studio-Ceramics studies from California State University, Sacramento and her pivotal teaching experiences including working with underprivileged adults with development disabilities of all ages. At ‘I Can Do That’, a K-12 combined needs program, Cristina created lesson plans that tied Common Core standards with art lessons which incorporated significant artist’s styles and techniques.
Elizabeth Piazza is a certified Wee Yogis Instructor. She has invested her time to the study of Kids Yoga with the intention of spreading the love to our youth. When Elizabeth is not teaching you can find her outside exploring the beauty of her home in Sonoma County.
