SATURDAYS, MARCH 12 & 19, 2022
Instructor: Robert Benson
Location: Room 210
Designed especially for beginners but valuable to artists of all levels, this two-session in-person class will develop your knowledge and skills in watercolor landscape painting. During the first session we will create a painting in greyscale values only, and the second session we will work in color. For both sessions the instructor will provide a prepared sheet of watercolor paper with the image of a barn outlined in pencil — no need to worry about your drawing ability! Instructor will begin the class with a brief demonstration for guidance.
Learn how to establish light and shadow areas, explore how watercolor paint works on the paper, and discuss watercolor techniques most commonly used. Registration for this class will close on March 5.
Please view the supply list to learn what to bring to the first class meeting.

As a lifelong artist, I worked 25 years as a Commercial Artist and Art Director in Advertising prior to moving to Sonoma County in 2001. For the past 20 years I have dedicated my painting to exploring exquisite Northern California landscapes, still life, people, and pet portrait work.
