SAT & SUN 10AM-4PM
JUNE 16 & 17, 2018
Instructor: Naomi Clement
Do you love making but hate decorating? This workshop is for you! In this two-day, hands-on workshop, students will learn a variety of surface design techniques for decorating work and developing surfaces. We will focus on how to achieve a richer look through texture and the addition of layers of colored underglazes and slips at the leather hard stage. Various approaches for achieving pattern will be demonstrated, and we will employ a variety of techniques such as paper-resists and slip trailing. We will also discuss strategies for decorating complicated forms, and look at different sources of inspiration for pattern and color. Good for both potters and sculptors, and even painters!
