JUN 13 – JUL 11, 2019 (No class on JUL 4)
Instructor: Brett Grunig
This course will be an introduction to the basics of printmaking, focusing on monoprinting and intaglio printing. Monoprinting is a medium which lends itself to quick expression and experimentation so students work on creating finished monotypes while learning basic shop and press safety and function. Once students have experienced working in the shop, they will learn basic intaglio techniques, such as drypoint and line-etch. Students will then be encouraged to focus on either monoprinting or intaglio printmaking, or to combine them to create original prints. It is recommended that students bring a sketchbook to class.
$40 materials fee due to instructor at time of class.
Students are also responsible for bringing their own paper. Instructor recommends 3-5 sheets of BFK Reeves @ 22” x 30”.
To help us prepare for this class, please register by May 23.
