About the class

Join Chef Sheana Davis as she takes you on a culinary journey to Dubai, the vibrant city of contrasts and cultures. In this class, you will learn how to prepare delicious dishes inspired by Chef Sheana’s travels, using authentic ingredients and spices from the region. You will also enjoy a slide show of her amazing experiences and insights into the Dubai food scene.
Sheana will prepare and serve guests a 4 course tasting.

The menu for this class includes:

  • Samossa Pie of Lamb Curry: A savory pie filled with tender lamb and aromatic curry spices, wrapped in crispy pastry.
  • Spice Box Chicken: A succulent chicken dish cooked with a blend of spices, yogurt, and tomatoes, served with fresh cilantro and lime.
  • Indian Spiced Greens: A simple and healthy side dish of greens sautéed with garlic, ginger, cumin, and turmeric.
  • Majboos: A fragrant basmati rice dish flavored with Arabian spices, such as cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, and saffron.
  • Knafeh: A sweet and creamy dessert of phyllo dough layered with cheese and date honey, baked until golden and crisp.
  • Ruya Cocktail: A refreshing drink made with sparkling wine or sparkling water, pomegranate molasses, and citrus juice.

You will receive the recipes for all the dishes after the class, so you can recreate them at home and share them with your family and friends.

When you register for a class, you’ll be offered three price tiers. The middle tier comes closest to what our registration fees used to be, and covers about 50% of the full cost of your participation in the class – with the other 50% covered by community donations. The first tier creates accessibility for people with limited income, while the third tier covers the full cost of participation – so that we can use community donations to support other people’s registration costs. When you choose to register at the third tier, you directly help support the Center’s efforts to remove financial barriers for others.

The Sonoma Community Center (the Center) strives to create an inclusive, safe community where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. The Center is committed to creating such an environment because it brings out the fullest potential in each of us, which, in turn, contributes directly to creating a community of belonging. In order to ensure a positive, safe, and welcoming experience for everyone, all program participants are asked to abide by the following policies, community agreements, and restorative safety protocol.
