The concert begins at 6pm in room 110 and wine and cookies will be available before the show and at intermission. Tickets are $15 dollars at the door, with the proceeds going to the center’s music program.
This month’s Kitchen Concert, on Sunday, May 28th promises to be a smorgasbord of luscious singing by Carolyn Alioto and Ilene Briggin. Cynthia Tarr, the vibrant chair of the center’s vocal department, will once again showcase two of her talented singers.
Carolyn and Ilene have been long-time members of Cynthia’s Gospel Choir, The Free Spirits, and have performed in her popular recitals held twice a year. Having performed their rousing set last May, they are back with their tasty morsels of music.
Carolyn’s sultry voice and sophisticated set includes an array of her favorite songs, including Broadway hits and popular standards. Ilene was born in Greenwich Village, NY, where she was exposed to the music of the 30s and 40s, and of course lots of Jazz, which she will be performing.
