About the class

Are you looking for a fun and social way to exercise and learn some new dance moves? If so, you might want to check out Grapevine Dance at the Sonoma Community Center for Line Dancing and lessons. Line dancing is a popular form of dance that involves a group of people performing synchronized steps to various genres of music. It’s a great way to improve your coordination, balance, and rhythm while having a blast with your friends or meeting new ones.

Grapevine Dance offers classes for all levels of experience and skill, from Absolute Beginner to Intermediate. You will learn the basic steps and patterns of line dancing as well as some more advanced moves and variations. The classes are taught by friendly and experienced instructors who will guide you through the dances and make sure you have fun along the way. You don’t need a partner to join the classes, just bring yourself and your enthusiasm. The only thing you need to wear is comfortable closed-toed shoes, boots are not required but recommended for the authentic line-dancing feel.

The middle tier comes closest to what our registration fees used to be, and covers about 50% of the full cost of your participation in the class – with the other 50% covered by community donations. The first tier creates accessibility for people with limited income, while the third tier covers the full cost of participation – so that we can use community donations to support other people’s registration costs. When you choose to register at the third tier, you directly help support the Center’s efforts to remove financial barriers for others.

The Sonoma Community Center (the Center) strives to create an inclusive, safe community where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. The Center is committed to creating such an environment because it brings out the fullest potential in each of us, which, in turn, contributes directly to creating a community of belonging.
