Trashion Fashion Sonoma celebrates the intersection of fashion, art, and environmental sustainability.
Welcome to the 2025 Trashion Season where we celebrate creative waste management through the innovative use of recycled and unconventional materials in art and fashion. We celebrate Earth Month with our signature events as the Trashion Fashion Runway Show, Trashion Barbies (Kens and Friends) Gallery Exhibit, a free community Trash Bash celebration, a spattering of workshops and free Trashion design studios, and even a walking tour self guided tour of past Trashion outfits displayed in Sonoma Valley.

Trashion Fashion Runway Show
Outrageous head-to-toe designs, made from recycled materials and found objects, will once again walk the runway.
Handmade by community members of all ages who are ready to take on the challenge of turning trash into wearable art.
The 15th Annual Trashion Fashion Runway Show will be live and in-person on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at the Sonoma Veterans Memorial Hall (126 1st Street West, Sonoma, 95476) with a 2:00 PM matinée and a 5:00 PM evening show.
Applications are now open for the 2025 Runway Show!
Amateurs as well as professionals, whether individuals or groups, ages 9 and above are encouraged to enter. Curious about entering and want to know more about the Trashion Runway experience? Attend the free Trashion 101 Open Studio and Designer Demos in January/February.

Please read carefully through the rules and guidelines in the application forms. You may submit your application online or stop by the Sonoma Community Center (276 E. Napa St, Sonoma, CA 95476) to pick up a hard copy.

Trashion “Barbie, Kens and Freinds”
Gallery & Auction
Saved from the landfills where the plastic dolls will often take twenty to possibly 500 years to decompose, we offer a Gallery Exhibit and Silent Auction to showcase Barbie and dolls that are repurposed into new works of recycled art.
The 2025 Gallery Opening will take place April 3, 2025 and will be available to view for free until April 26.
You have the chance to win a custom upcycled barbie during our in-person auction at our Trash Bash celebration on April 26, 2025.
Applications will be available online and in person after January 22, 2025.
Open to all ages. A limited amount of donated dolls will be available at the Sonoma Community Center for pick-up. Doll donations are accepted all year.

Trashion 101 Open Studios & Trashion Workshops
Curious about creating a Trashion Fashion runway outfit or an up-cycled Trashion Barbie and don’t know where to start?
We are offering three FREE open design studios on Monday, January 27, February 11 and February 24 from 5:30-8 PM at the Sonoma Community Center in Roomm 208.
You have access to space, tools, supplies and recycled materials or BYOT (Bring your own Trash!). We will also feature designers from past years to share their work, expertise, and hands on advice from past Runway designers.

Free – Trash Bash Post Runway Celebration
The culmination of Trashion Fashion events season with the free wrap up party called “Trash Bash” will take place at the Sonoma Community Center on Saturday, April 26, 2025. Times TBA.
Attendees will have the rare opportunity to see all of the Trashion Runway Show outfits up-close, as well as meet with and talk to the designers. The Runway Show winners will be announced, and a final exciting bid call for the Trashion Barbies Silent Auction will be held after.
To complete the efforts of waste management mindfulness, Trash Bash attendees will be able to visit with Sonoma County waste management organizations, and shop with local Sonoma County sustainability and upcycling artists.
