Join us Thursday, November 28 for the Annual free Thanksgiving Dinner
The Free Thanksgiving Dinner wouldn’t be possible without the many wonderful community volunteers that come out to support the event. If you’re interested in volunteering this year you can click through the link below for more details!
The Free Thanksgiving Dinner will be held on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, at the Sonoma Veterans Memorial Hall at 126 First Street West, with the doors opening at 3:00PM and meals will be provided until the food runs out. Meals will be available on a first come, first served basis and all are welcome to attend. There is no cost to attend, however, donations are gratefully accepted to help offset the cost of producing the event.
For years, the Sonoma Community Center, Sonoma’s Rotary, Vintage House and many, many others have teamed up to serve over 500 free Thanksgiving dinners to local residents. Led by an all-volunteer crew, the free dinner has become a much-loved tradition in the Sonoma Valley, bringing together a broad cross-section of the community.
As always, the meal is made using locally sourced, fresh ingredients and includes all the traditional Thanksgiving fare. Longtime Sonoma Community Center volunteer and Rotarian Gary Edwards, along with his co-chef Daniel Quijada, lead the dinner preparations. Local groups and individuals including Bright Event Rentals, Elaine Bell Catering, Paul’s Produce, Sonoma Market, and Joanne Romanini Distributing also donate supplies and ingredients for the event and Vintage House provides all of the desserts for the dinner.
