FREE PUBLIC ALTAR LIGHTING CEREMONY, Monday November 1st from 5:30 -7:30pm
Free outdoor reception with music, food, and drinks as we celebrate back those we loved and lost. Costumes, accessories, and make-up are encouraged.
The front yard of the Center comes alive with the honoring of our long lost loved ones. Come walk through the annual tradition of altar making for the Dia de los Muertos Holidays. The 12’ altar, designed and built by local sculptor Jim Callahan, will be decorated in golden lights, flowers, paper butterflies, and portraits of Sonoma Valley’s passed loved ones and lost “heroes.” Visitors are invited to participate in the memorial by dedicating a provided butterfly to a loved one or bringing a small momento to be added to the altar.
Altar visitation dates are Friday, October 29th – Wednesday, November 3rd.
The Center is located at 276 East Napa Street in Sonoma.
