About the class

We welcome Sandra Kelch back to our studio for a new two-day intensive workshop!
Explore experimental methods for creating exciting multi-layered monotype prints inspired by nature.

The workshop will begin with a lecture on methods of abstracting, and viewing creative examples of abstract nature in art and ways to combine drawing and printmaking techniques. Several drawing exercises will be introduced that can later be used for transfer imagery, stencil making and layering over prints. Collage exercises with photographic imagery will also be explored to encourage compositional techniques. Students will have the opportunity to create a body of monotype prints, while learning about tools, materials and processes. Sandra will demonstrate unique ways to combine relief stamping, monotype printing, stenciling, collage, drawing, transfer techniques, and more!

No prior printmaking experience is required. All levels beginner through intermediate are welcome.
There will be several small breaks and a 45 minute lunch break each day. Please bring a bag lunch.
