About the instructor

Monica Ramirez

Instructor / Artist

Art has always been my biggest passion—I’ve been drawing and painting since I was a kid! Now, I’m a published children’s book writer and illustrator. My book, The Adventures of Democracy Land, is one of my favorite projects, combining fun adventures with important life lessons for kids. When I’m not working on a new story, you can find me traveling the world as a digital nomad, immersing myself in new cultures and environments. I do a lot of plein air painting on the road, finding inspiration in nature’s colors and textures. Whether it’s a bright, sun-soaked landscape or the soft hues of an evening sky, I love to capture the beauty of the world around me through my art. For me, both painting and storytelling are about connection—whether it’s with a place, a feeling, or an idea, I aim to bring that to life in everything I create.
