About the camp

Are you an LGBTQIA+ youth interested in art? In partnership with Positive Images, this week-long camp will dive into the rich history of the LGBTQIA+ community’s influence in art, while exploring a variety of art forms & mediums like painting, sculpture, fiber arts, and more from local LGBTQIA+ artist instructors: Tyler Ann Shahan from Clusterfunk Studios, Adie Valavanis, and Claire Carlomagno. This camp is perfect for those wanting to meet and connect with other queer youth, create art & try different mediums, and engage with some LGBTQIA+ history!

The Sonoma Community Center (the Center) strives to create an inclusive, safe community where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. The Center is committed to creating such an environment because it brings out the fullest potential in each of us, which, in turn, contributes directly to creating a community of belonging. In order to ensure a positive, safe, and welcoming experience for everyone, all program participants are asked to abide by the following policies, community agreements, and restorative safety protocol.
