Barbies & Bags: Reclaimed & Reinvented

Workshop/Studio Time

Sunday, February 15, 1-4 PM

Are you wanting to create a doll or a bag for the Gallery 212 exhibit in April, Barbies & Bags: Reclaimed & Reinvented Exhibit and Auction? Do you feel like you need the tools or guidance to get going? You’re in luck. Molly Spencer will be hosting a workshop in the Fiber Arts Studio. The cost of the workshop is the entry fee for submissions to the show: $25 for one entry, $40 for two (bags or dolls).

Registration for Barbies & Bags and the Trashion Fashion Runway Show are open. Dolls may be picked up at the Center or feel free to use your own. Bags of any kind can be upcycled or created from unconventional items. Deadline for Barbies & Bags submissions is March 13. Adult and youth applications are due for the runway show are due March 24, but there is a cap at 40 entries. After that a waitlist will be maintained. Application links are below.

Surfaces & Storytelling with Ceramics Resident Artist, Ariana Stein

Tuesdays beginning February 17, 10 AM

Join Ari in an introduction to wheel-thrown and decorated ceramics. Half the class will focus on wheel throwing, and the other half will explore painting and carving the functional pieces. Ari has a passion for narrative imagery and will encourage storytelling through surface.

Lunar New Year Painted Lanterns

Saturday, February 21, 10 AM

Celebrate Lunar New Year 2026 by creating a handmade paper lantern with LED lights. Design personalized panels using stencils, block printing, and fiber techniques. SAVE THE DATE: the Lunar New Year Free Community Celebration is Saturday, March 7.

Every February, the annual Chili Bowl fundraiser celebrates community, food, and clay. Featuring artisan bowls made by the Center’s ceramics team and a variety of hot, steaming chili options prepared by local chefs, the Chili Bowl brings our community together to create a sense of warmth during the tail-end of winter.

One performance only! A fundraiser for the Center.
