With humble beginnings in rural Japan, Sashiko’s running stitch insulated work garments for warmth and longevity. Learn how to patch and repair a rip or hole, reinforce a worn area, and prepare a distressed textile for drawing a Sashiko grid and stitching a pattern. Students will take home their two needles, twenty-two yards of cotton Sashiko thread, and a Sashiko thimble. |

In solidarity with the Buddhist Monks on their “Walk for Peace” as they head to Washington, D.C., the community is invited to the Sonoma Plaza, meeting just east of the duck pond. Join for a sacred time of prayers, meditations, blessings, inspirational readings, and songs.
