Tickets for the 16th Annual Trashion Fashion Runway Show are On Sale This Week!

Tuesday, March 10: SCC Members Only Pre-Sale

Thursday, March 12: Open to the Public

Prices will vary depending on distance from the runway. Sonoma Community Center Members get first pick of the seats- 48 hours before tickets go on sale to the public! Not a member? There is still time to join the Center and take advantage of this perk. The Trashion Fashion Runway Show will take place at the Sonoma Veterans Memorial Hall on Saturday, April 18. There are two shows: a family-friendly matinee at 1:30 PM and an evening show at 5 PM, with a post-runway bubble reception to meet and greet the designers. Sponsorships are available. Sonoma Valley 6th Annual Earth Day Photo Contest

Presented by the City of Sonoma & Sonoma Community Center

Submissions are accepted through April 3

Online Voting is April 9-15

Winners Will be Announced on Earth Day, April 22

All submitted photos will be displayed in Sonoma’s City Council Chambers as part of the Rotating Chamber Art Program, offering the community a chance to enjoy these images in person later this spring. Winners in each age category will receive a Sonoma County Regional Parks Membership Voucher or a local business gift certificate and will be recognized at the Earth Day Event at the Sonoma Community Center on April 25.

DEADLINE: Barbies & Bags

Friday, March 13, 5 PM, bring to the SCC Office

The deadline is quickly approaching for Barbies & Bags submissions. Interested in creating doll art from recycled materials or wearable art in the form of a bag? Fill out an application and bring your submissions to the SCC Office in room 210. The Gallery 212 Exhibit and Auction will open on Thursday, April 2, at 5:30 PM during the Sonoma Art Walk and will close during the Annual Trash Bash Wrap Party on April 25.

Family Stick Loom Weaving

Saturday, March 21, 2 PM, $30

Learn the ancient craft of weaving with a stick loom! In this family-friendly class, you’ll learn to hand-weave a simple tapestry using sticks as your loom. There will be a variety of stick shapes to choose from and plenty of room to play with pattern and color. This is a family class for kids ages 7-12. Children must be accompanied by an adult to attend. $30 per family (up to 3 people)

Classic & Whole Wheat All-Butter Pie Dough Workshop with Hien Pham

Saturday, May 16, 10 AM, $100

In this class, we will learn various effective mixing, rolling, and shaping techniques to create flaky all-butter pie dough without using shortening. We will learn how to incorporate locally grown whole-grain flour into the pie dough for deeper flavor and health benefits. Enjoy a savory veggie galette after class, and each student will take home a pie dough to enjoy later.

Designed for artists and creative enthusiasts, the session will introduce Mariana’s acrylic painting techniques, including highlights and color mixing to bring your pet’s face and fur to life.
