About the Contest

The City of Sonoma, in partnership with the Sonoma Community Center, is thrilled to announce the 6th Annual Earth Day Photo Contest, inviting photographers of all ages to capture the beauty, movement, and meaning of water in Sonoma Valley.

The 2026 theme, “The Power of Water,” encourages participants to explore how water shapes our lives and landscapes — from misty morning vineyards and rushing creeks to reflective ponds, dramatic winter storms, and quiet coastal tides. Water sustains us, restores us, moves us, and connects us. Now it’s your turn to show us how.

All submitted photos will be featured in Sonoma’s City Council Chambers as part of the Rotating Chamber Art Program — offering participants the opportunity to have their work displayed in a public exhibition.

Winners in each category will receive a Sonoma County Regional Parks Membership Voucher or a local business gift certificate. Winners will also be recognized during the Earth Day Celebration on April 25, 2026, held at the Sonoma Community Center.
