Family Lantern Making Class

Celebrate a German tradition with lantern making, songs, cookies, and a glowing stroll through Sonoma-family memories filled with light and joy!

It’s a German tradition for families with young kids to brighten the early winter days with homemade lanterns, celebrating light and compassion.

We will start with lantern making at the community center, while listening to lantern songs and stories, snacking on German cookies and sipping hot fruit tea.
After that we will stroll with our lighted lanterns through the lovely streets of Sonoma and through the Sonoma Plaza.

Let’s create family memories filled with light and happiness.

  • 4:30 PM – Lantern Making at the Community Center
    • Lantern materials and candles will be provided
    • Lantern songs and stories
    • German cookies and fruit tea
  • 5:30 – 6:00 PM – Optional Lantern Walk through the Plaza
    • All welcome to join (you don’t need to participate in the latnern making class to join the lantern walk)
