Waitlist – Origami Boxes & More

About the Class

Join us for a hands-on workshop where you’ll learn to make your own holiday gift boxes, inspired by traditional Japanese folding techniques. Megumi will guide you through mastering each fold and crease, turning simple sheets of paper into boxes that can be gifts in themselves. The focus will be on creating smaller boxes but you’ll also learn how to scale up the boxes using larger sheets of paper for even more versatility. You’ll also learn embellishment techniques of repurposing and upcycling everyday materials to add a personal touch and additional layer of meaning to your gift boxes. Megumi will integrate excerpts from her book “The Soul of Gift Wrapping” explaining not only techniques but the various meanings and historic context of the art of wrapping and folding paper.

Megumi’s book “The Soul of Gift Wrapping: Creative Techniques for Expressing Gratitude, Inspired by the Japanese Art of Giving” will be available to purchase at the workshop.

If you cancel with less than 10 days’ notice, we will not be able to provide refunds, due to our contractual obligations and material purchases for each class.

If this happens and we do not offer a reschedule date, you will be refunded 100% of your registration fee (minus the payment processing and services fee), or credit towards a future class. If we are able to offer a reschedule date but you are unable to make the new date, we will gladly offer credit towards a future class.

All credits must be used within 1 year.
