Each April, artists of all ages transform discarded and unconventional materials into bold runway designs, gallery exhibits, and community experiences that reimagine our relationship with waste. What began as a one-time runway show is now in its 16th season and has grown into a beloved Northern California tradition, featuring the iconic Trashion Fashion Runway Show, recycled-art exhibitions, creative workshops, and free community events – all championing creativity, reinvention, and a vision of a more sustainable future.
Join us either from local or afar, there is something for everyone. Whether it’s the runway experience, creating a gallery exhibit, volunteering, sponsoring or attending – we aim to transform trash to treasure and lift the spirit of community through creativity and connection.

Returning this year is the exhibit & silent auction for anyone to visit from anywhere. You have the chance to win a custom upcycled Barbie or bag. The auction is in-person and live this year and will not be available online. However, if you see a doll or bag you are interested in on our social media or have previously visited, we can proxy bid for you. Contact Norine Daniel at (707) 938-4626 ext. 1 or [email protected]. The proceeds help support arts programming at the Sonoma Community Center.
The exhibit will extend beyond the gallery walls this year and will be on display on the first floor in the foyer, the display cabinets, and beyond. Explore the entire building and end in the gallery! All bidding is done in person in Gallery 212.
Featuring dolls saved from landfills – where plastic often takes twenty to 500 years to decompose—we offer a Gallery Exhibit and Silent Auction to showcase Barbies and dolls that have been repurposed into new works of recycled art.
