| Impact Stories: Relief Residency Program |

The Relief Residency Program was born in response to the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene on so many in the craft community in Western North Carolina. The Center saw an opportunity to re-imagine resources we already had to support artists across the country. We transformed our traditional six-month residency to a series of shorter, funded residencies designed to generate income and support artists who have lost their studio or livelihood due to natural or man-made disasters.
In Summer/Fall 2025, we hosted Melissa Weiss and Stefani Threet. Melissa’s housing and income were impacted due to the devastating hurricane. (Hear her story on the Sonoma Community Center Podcast!) Stefani is a Philadelphia ceramicist who had her NEA grant funding taken away and subsequently lost her home and studio space. |

Stefani Threet is a ceramic artist, mentor, and community organizer based in West Philadelphia. She is the founder of Ceramic Concept, the city’s first Black woman-owned ceramic gallery, which, from its opening in November 2020, became a vital hub showcasing over 200 artists, primarily artists of color, women, and local creatives, while fostering workshops, mentorship, and community dialogue. Celebrate the end of her 6-week ceramics residency with us while shopping for gifts and enjoying the offerings of Dos’ Bar, a community tasting room for natural wine and cider. |

| | Tickets to the Annual Chili Bowl FundraiserSaturday, February 28, 2026
Lunch tickets include a beautiful handmade bowl chosen from a large selection of ceramic bowls made right here at the Center! Guests then choose from a selection of chili made by local chefs and dine at community tables throughout the building. Dinner tickets include all of that, plus a handmade ceramic cup and a cocktail/mocktail party.
There are three seatings: two are lunch at 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM. Dinner starts with a cocktail hour at 5 PM. |
