About the class
Explore the vibrant world of Abstract Pop Art in this hands-on workshop! Pop Art is indicative of bold colors, layered textures, and striking patterns using a mix of masking techniques, stencils, acrylic paint, and spray paint. Each student will design and make their own stencil during the course of the workshop.
Colleen will guide you step-by-step with demonstrations that will enable you to blend these tools and techniques into a cohesive, eye-catching abstract Pop Art piece. Whether you’re drawn to playful patterns or expressive experimentation, this workshop will spark your imagination and leave you with a masterpiece that truly pops!
All materials are provided except for your substrate which should be a canvas or a wood panel or board from the hardware store. Minimum size 16” x 20” but you can choose to go big with a substrate up to 30” x 40”.
Bring your enthusiasm and creativity! By the end of the session, you’ll take home a completed artwork and a newfound confidence in combining contemporary art techniques.
Note: Please bring a bag lunch.
