About the Totem Build

Sonoma Community Center Members and Staff are all invited to participate in our next FREE 2024 Tall Sculptures Community Build. You can make one or more pieces that can be placed on a pole to make 10 or more Sculptures/Totem Poles/Lamps between 2 to 6 feet tall that will be auctioned off to support the Sonoma Community Center and ceramics programming. New this year will be making totem sculptures that can be converted into pole lamps.

Each sculpture piece must be able to slide down a 1.5- inch metal pipe that accommodates the electric wire and/or balance/stabilize the “tall” lamp/totem sculptures. Reclaimed clay and demonstrations will be provided during the build period. No prior experience is required.

It is time to build!
Join us Saturday and Sunday the second weekend in September to curate and assemble our incredible totems!

The Sonoma Community Center (the Center) strives to create an inclusive, safe community where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. The Center is committed to creating such an environment because it brings out the fullest potential in each of us, which, in turn, contributes directly to creating a community of belonging. In order to ensure a positive, safe, and welcoming experience for everyone, all program participants are asked to abide by the following policies, community agreements, and restorative safety protocol.
