About the class

Explore the wonderful world of monotype printmaking with a gel plate! Gelli plates are a versatile tool for experimenting with printing layers and textures to create one-of-a-kind prints without the use of a mechanical printing press. This playful method will encourage your creativity to flow and flourish in exciting new ways! Learn how to use this reusable silicone printing plate over and over again to create unique impressions on paper and fabric.

Kelly has expanded this popular workshop to six consecutive Tuesday night evening sessions. These special short-format foundational classes will be paced and teach you how to layer water soluble acrylics and inks using a variety of tools to create vibrant abstract works on paper. The goal will be to build on new skills learned each week to experiment, engage and practice in our studio. Classes will focus on sustainable practices using household items, repurposed packaging materials, botanical plants, handmade stencils, and more! Students will produce a variety of prints and collage papers that stand alone or can be developed with other mixed media. This class is recommended for beginners or students who may want to further develop their basic gel plate printing skills.
