About the event
Join us on January 25, 2025 at 11:00 for a free Make In – Community Commitments Chain. Open to all ages.
The Center is committed to building a community where everyone feels they belong; where we honor our diverse perspectives and commit to holding each other with respect. We work to foster generative dialogue and connection, because we know that a feeling of belonging is vital to wellbeing and longevity. We thrive when our community thrives.
Each link represents our commitments to each other. This chain will serve as a public art piece to remind us of the power of community and our role in building it together. A chain is a connected series of links used for fastening, securing, or supporting- The Center’s chain symbolizes the role each of us has in creating a healthy community that is supportive, safe, and connected.
Participants will be able to craft a link and emboss their commitments to each other on the link. There will be the opportunity to glaze each link. The chain, which will be a living project that reflects the ever changing nature of our community, will be on display at the Center.
