Join us at the iconic Woodsboro High (Sonoma Community Center) for a screening of the 1996 cult classic, Scream. Written by Kevin Williamson and directed by the late Wes Craven, the Center was used as the set for the high school scenes after Santa Rosa High School decided they didn’t want a horror film made on their campus (they thought it was a comedy).

On Wednesday, October 30 in Andrews Hall, the evening will begin with a screening of the short film SLA5H by Sonoma Valley High School’s Media Arts students Charlotte King, Izzy Peterson, Marcus Tomola, Jesus Alvarez, and Mari Purtell. It is a parody homage to Scream, filmed at locations from the film.

Following that, we will celebrate a former member of the Sonoma Community Center’s leadership, Dan Casabonne, for bringing the film to the Center for filming. Not only did he make it possible for the Center to pay off its mortgage at the time, but he also created a piece of movie history that people worldwide come to share with us.

We will have adult beverages and non-alcoholic options for sale, and of course, popcorn. Vendors will be selling Scream-themed artwork and the Center will be selling the remaining limited edition tote bags and screen prints. The current design is by Sydney Boldt.

If the totes and prints are sold out by the end of the film on October 30th, we will unveil the next limited edition artwork and the special announcement of the new artist!
