About this PRINT LAB
Join us for a special Print Lab this month!
Print Lab will be held on Saturday, September 28th from 6-8pm during Kelly Autumn’s solo exhibition closing party – Come out, celebrate, and see the art!
Enjoy live music by DJ Kevin West (Instagram @didsomethingjusthappen), and create some fun and colorful handmade mini foam prints! Foam printing is a personal favorite of Kelly’s and she’ll show you how to make your own mini wooden stamp with cut out shapes and colorful ink pads that you can share and take home. Play in color, and print to house beats by DJ Kevin!
All individuals are welcome, including families! No prior printmaking experience is necessary. Please RSVP to help us with a headcount and to make sure we have enough space and materials for everyone. This month, a donation in any amount is greatly appreciated to help cover the cost of supporting Print Lab in our community studio. Light refreshments and drinks will be provided.
Please note: There will be loud music this month, and this is not a carving demonstration or workshop, just a fun evening of group community printing, dancing and mingling!
About the Exhibit
The Sonoma Community Center is pleased to announce Kelly Autumn’s first solo exhibition “Everything on the Table” showcasing a collection of Autumn’s career-spanning prints on view in Gallery 212. The show runs from Sept. 7- Sept. 28, 2024, and features a wide range of contemporary works on paper including woodcuts, linocuts, etchings, monotypes, and screenprints. Accompanying the exhibition is a showcase of collaborative ceramics created with local artist, Lexi Bakkar, in which Autumn explores the unique dialogue that emerges when printmaking lends itself to surface design on clay.
“Everything on the Table” explores a cultural duality, and the constant discovery of oneself within the varied processes and projects that form the heart of the artist’s identity and creative practice. An exclusive print from the collection, created in the Sonoma Community Center printmaking studio, will be featured as a limited edition giclee with a percentage of the proceeds benefiting the Center’s diverse arts programming and community scholarships.
Exhibition and reception events are free to attend. The gallery is open daily to the public during the community center’s normal business office hours, Monday-Saturday 10am to 5pm. Sundays by appointment. Gallery 212 is located at 276 East Napa Street in Sonoma.
