Meet the Comedians:

Headliner: Steve Ausburne

Steve Ausburne’s comedy career started with emcee/host work for friends with bands. His first attempt at actual stand-up ended with a lifetime ban from a church in Grant’s Pass, Oregon. Buoyed by that successful start, Steve has since embraced the stage as a place to present a spoken-word memoir of all the embarrassing life moments that lurk in a place that only stand-up or therapy sessions can reveal.

Also, he is allergic to cats.

Steve peddles his comedic wares throughout Sonoma County and the San Francisco Bay Area.  He produces comedy shows throughout California’s Wine Country and in addition to comedy performances, he is available for auctioneering, event hosting, work parties, voice acting, and private dancing.

Feature: Jesse Fernandez

Jesse Fernandez is a stand-up comedian as well as a writer and producer for AJ+’s hit political comedy show, Newsbroke. He’s written for The Onion Inc. Network, the funniest parts of certain TED Talks, eBaum’s World (yes, they’re still around), and teaches stand-up comedy at Google. He’s been featured in 9 SF Sketchfests, presented research at The International Society For Humor Studies Conference, and won the Speechless Improvised PowerPoint and National College Comedy competitions. Among the countless people he’s opened for as a stand-up are Maria Bamford (from Netflix’s Lady Dynamite), Andy Kindler (judge on NBC’s Last Comic Standing), Mary Lynn Rajskub (from Fox’s 24), and even Steve-O (you know what he’s from).

Host: Cody Smit

Smit, a well-regarded Bay Area comedy scene figure, is a regular at the world-famous San Francisco Punch Line. He frequently graces prominent venues like Cobb’s Comedy Club and Sacramento Punch Line. As a foundational pillar of Smit Show Comedy, he’s not only solidified his reputation in the North Bay but has also remarkably cultivated a favorite comedy production in the region. With a knack for generating laughs alongside comedians from around the world, including notable names like Big Jay Oakerson, Godfrey, and Eddie Pepitone, Smit ensures his performances resonate through insightful commentary and skillful crowd work. His self-deprecating humor is not only a signature style but also a bridge to connect authentically with his audiences.

Beyond the stage, Smit extends his influence as a spirited advocate for redheads, fervently spotlighting and challenging the everyday prejudices they encounter. Esteeming himself as leader and spokesperson for their social movement, his advocacy intertwines seamlessly with his comedic endeavors, rendering him a unique and impactful voice in the stand-up community.
