The Sonoma Community Center and the Rotary Clubs of Sonoma Valley are partnering to bring Leonard Nimoy’s one-man play Vincent starring Jim Jarrett to the Rotary Stage in Andrews Hall. The play is an insight into master artist Vincent Van Gogh as shared in his letters with his brother Theo. The performances benefit the renovation of the Sam Morphy Family Community Room in honor of the contributions Sam and his family have made to Sonoma.

Vincent, a one-man play originally written by famous actor and author Leonard Nimoy, comes to life on the Rotary Stage in Andrews Hall starring Jim Jarrett.

The play recounts the story of Vincent Van Gogh’s brother, Theo, as he recuperates a few days after Vincent’s death. Based on over 500 letters exchanged between Theo and Vincent, the play examines the “real life” of Vincent Van Gogh from the perspective of Theo, Vincent’s lifelong supporter.

Throughout the play, more than a hundred of Van Gogh’s paintings are projected on a framed screen, providing a rich overview of the artist’s work as well as a visual complement to the unfolding story.
