Faces of the Center- Membership EditionMeet Artist & Author, Emily Marks!Emily Marks has been a member of the Center for over a decade. She is a local artist and author of What the Painter Heard: The Life and Times of John Singleton Copley. Today, we get to know a little more about her. |
|
|
Emily Marks first moved to the Valley in 2008 and taught several classes at the Center. In 2015, she had a solo exhibition in Gallery 212 of her altered book art.
When it comes to Trashion Fashion, Emily has participated in 3 runway shows. “It’s grown since then,” she said. “I admire the artful costumes, and it’s a great fundraiser for the Center.”
“The Winter Art Market is another event that is so much fun,” Emily continued. “I’ve participated at least 3 times and made a lot of friends selling my knitting and paper goods.” Emily gifts her profits from the Art Market to various charities.
This is the point where we usually ask what our featured member would try at the Center, but we see Emily often. She’s always trying something new! Thanks for your support, Emily. |
