About the Class

Just in time for Indian Independence day on August 15!

Join us for a rich and satisfying journey into Indian home cooking. In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to make Butter Chicken, a beloved classic with tender chicken simmered in a creamy, spiced tomato sauce. We’ll also prepare Palak Dal, a nourishing lentil and spinach stew that’s both comforting and full of flavor. To complete the meal, we’ll cook Jeera Rice—fluffy basmati rice infused with toasted cumin seeds. Perfect for anyone wanting to explore the bold, warm flavors of Indian cuisine, this class offers a delicious balance of spice, comfort, and tradition.

Recipes for this class include:

  • Butter chicken
  • Palak dal

Instructor

Mary Pandey

Namaste and hello! My name is Mary Pandey, born and raised in my beautiful country India. I am a Hotel Management graduate with a Culinary Major, completing my passion for cooking and a deep love for my culture and its rich food traditions. I have worked in many renowned hotels and currently I have stepped aside and raising my beautiful family. Cooking has always been my way of expressing love and bringing people together. I enjoy sharing meals, stories, and recipes with others—it fills me with joy to see food bring smiles. I’m a proud mom of two little foodies and married to a fellow chef, so our home is always full of flavor and creativity. I’m excited to be part of this community and connect with others who share the same love for food!
