Hands on Gingerbread House Class

Build a cozy, edible centerpiece in this hands-on gingerbread house workshop designed to inspire holiday traditions.

Gathering around the table with warm spices and royal icing, you will learn the step-by-step process of baking sturdy gingerbread panels and assembling a structural masterpiece from scratch.

What We’ll Make

  • Learn a time-tested gingerbread dough spiced with ginger, cinnamon, dark molasses, and whole grains.
  • We will go through rolling, cutting, and baking flat, sturdy structural panels that hold their shape.
  • Dive into the fun part with piping bags, royal icing, and an array of edible decorations. I will guide you step-by-step through piping techniques from crisp roof shingles and icicles to delicate lattice work and custom candy accents.

Learn and Enjoy

Enjoy a seasonal meal, cookies and beverages. You will leave with your custom-decorated gingerbread house, printed recipe guides, and a pre-portioned batch of spiced gingerbread dough to rebuild the magic with family and friends at home.

Celebrate the holidays, cozy up in community, and discover the joy of creating edible art together!

Leila Clement

I am a professional pastry cook and baker who believes the best way to connect is through something made by hand. My own culinary journey began as a self-taught learner, which gives me a unique perspective on how to break down complex skills effectively. Having worked in fine-dining pastry departments and award-winning bakeries, I now focus on bridging the gap between professional technique and the home kitchen.

Because I started exactly where you are, I find so much joy in helping students break through technical barriers and grow their confidence. I am a firm believer in staying in a ‘student mindset’. I view class as a collaborative space where we can all learn from one another. I can’t wait to see what we create together!

Through teaching, I now focus on bridging the gap between professional technique and the home kitchen.
