Pie Workshop: Classic Apple & Pecan Pie for Thanksgiving

Make double-crust apple pie and classic pecan pie from scratch with Chef Maria Teresa, and take home extra pie dough for your Thanksgiving table.

Thanksgiving is days away, and this workshop takes on the part most home bakers dread: the crust. Chef Maria Teresa Capdevielle, a professionally trained pastry chef, has you build two pies from scratch:

  • Double-Crust Classic Apple Pie: flaky pastry, cut and seasoned fruit, and a properly sealed, vented and crimped top crust
  • Pecan Pie: a rich, glossy classic with a filling that sets clean every time

The class covers keeping dough cold, blind baking, avoiding a soggy bottom, and how far ahead each step can be done. Every student takes home pie dough, ready to roll out for the holiday.

All levels welcome, beginners included.
