The bidding is officially open, and competing bids can be made through the Trash Bash/City of Sonoma Earth Day Event on Saturday, April 25, at 2 PM. Sonoma Valley Catalyst Fund holds an annual event, Sonoma Valley Star Volunteer Awards, to honor the “Star Volunteers” of nonprofits in the Valley. The 2026 awards were held last Saturday, March 21, at Vintage House. The Center’s own Jill Valavanis designed the wonderful star ribbons that identified all of the honorees!

On the first Friday of the month, our Culinary Department, led by Chef G, will have lunch available at the “Community Table.” For our inaugural meal, we are selling crisp tacos dorados filled with potato & shredded beef, topped with fresh veggies, two cheeses, sour cream, and habanero salsa. $18 per plate includes 4 tacos and an agua fresca. Pre-order and pick up anytime between noon and 2 PM.

Chili Bowl 2026 is here, and with it, the online silent auction. Bidding began today at noon and will be open through Monday at 10 AM. If you will be at the Chili Bowl in person, make sure you preregister for the auction to make browsing and bidding easier at the event.

We are entering the Year of the Horse, but more significantly, 2026 brings a “Fire Horse” Year. It is a year for rapid progress, innovation, and breaking old patterns to achieve personal growth. Our 3rd Annual Lunar New Year Community Celebration will once again take place on the back patio of the Center with performers and food vendors. We will also have kid crafts, a Chinese calligraphy demonstration, & more. It is free for everyone in the community.

Are you wanting to create a doll or a bag for the Gallery 212 exhibit in April, Barbies & Bags: Reclaimed & Reinvented Exhibit and Auction? Do you feel like you need the tools or guidance to get going? You’re in luck. Molly Spencer will be hosting a workshop in the Fiber Arts Studio. The cost of the workshop is the entry fee for submissions to the show: $25 for one entry, $40 for two (bags or dolls).

MUSE 2026, August 15, 2026 is not about a single honoree. Instead, it is a tribute to the collective spirit that has sustained and grown the Sonoma Community Center for three-quarters of a century. From its earliest days to today, the Center has thrived because of the people who believed in its mission and invested their time, talent, and passion.
