Beyond Snapshots: Creative iPhone Photography

Unlock your iPhone’s camera. Learn shooting modes, exposure, composition & light to turn everyday snapshots into expressive, memorable photos.

Your iPhone is a remarkably powerful camera. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll discover how to use its built-in tools and features to create more creative, intentional photographs. We’ll explore shooting modes, lenses, exposure, focus, and other essential camera settings while emphasizing composition, light, perspective, and the art of seeing. Whether you’re capturing everyday moments, travel adventures, or dramatic landscapes, you’ll gain practical techniques and creative insights to transform simple snapshots into compelling, expressive images. Whether you’re a beginner or have been using your iPhone for years, you’ll leave with greater confidence, practical skills, and fresh inspiration—ready to create photographs that are more expressive, memorable, and uniquely your own. All levels of experience and camera phones are welcome, but we do demonstrate on the newer iPhone.

Requirements: charged phone and charging cord; pen and paper, lunch and thermos of coffee/tea if so desired.
