Sonoma Community Center is pleased to announce a new series of free and low-cost classes and workshops designed to make creative education accessible to everyone in the community. Made possible through an arts education grant from The Community Foundation Sonoma County, the program will offer at least one class or workshop each month across a diverse range of artistic disciplines.

Sonoma Community Center brings back musician and composer John Partridge to accompany two short films by Buster Keaton. Keaton’s first short film, One Week, and one of his last shorts, The Balloonatic, will screen in Andrews Hall on Thursday, October 8, at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are just $10 per person, and all ages are welcome. Classic film enthusiast and Movies Are Magic author Jennifer Churchill will introduce the films.

The Sonoma Community Center will host an intimate concert in their Secret Garden on Friday, September 18, at 6:30 p.m. Coyote Girls and Desert Hollow will make a stop in Sonoma on their West Coast tour, which will culminate in The Good Luck Camp Out Mountain Music Festival the weekend of September 24-27 in Mi-Wuk Village, California.

Sonoma Community Center welcomes artist Valerie Seaburg to teach lantern-making workshops. The first two sessions will be family-friendly on Saturday, September 20, with a two-day workshop for adults on Saturday and Sunday, September 26 and 27. The Center is able to keep registration low for participants thanks to the generous support of KHR McNeely Family Foundation. The family class is just $10 per person while the adult workshop is $60 with all materials included.

Sonoma Community Center held the MUSE Gala, its biggest annual fundraising event, on Saturday, August 15, outdoors at the Center. Hundreds of community members came out to celebrate the collective YOU, the true force behind the nonprofit’s enduring legacy. The event was a success and surpassed the set goals for fundraising and fun-raising.

In honor of 30 years of Scream, Sonoma Community Center will host a Halloween Haunted Market in conjunction with their “Woodsboro High Class of ‘96 Reunion” Weekend. The Scream-themed events celebrate the 30th anniversary of the film and will take place Friday, October 30, and Saturday, October 31, at the Center.

Sonoma Community Center, in partnership with Smit Show Comedy, brings back Valley Laughs, a night of stand-up comedy, to Andrews Hall. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, August 7, with Cody Smit as host, featuring the Bay Area’s Sean McKenzie, and headliner Kiry Shabazz of Los Angeles. Tickets are $25, and proceeds benefit the Center.

Sonoma Community Center is expanding its health and wellness programming with several new offerings. A local chef will lead a unique demonstration-based seasonal cooking class throughout August, with participants enjoying lunch afterward. On Saturday, August 8, the Center will host a meditative sound bath journey. Then, on Monday, August 24, Insight into Health Live will offer a conversation exploring what “being healthy” actually is.

The Sonoma Community Center’s annual fundraiser, Winter Art Market, will be Friday, December 4, through Sunday, December 6, 2026. This juried market includes over 60 artists selling their handmade items. The application process opened July 1 and will close on July 31. There is no cost to apply for the Winter Art Market.

Sonoma Community Center’s biggest annual fundraising event, The MUSE Gala, will honor the true force behind the nonprofit’s enduring legacy– YOU! The collective YOU that is our community: the founders, visionaries, artists, supporters, and changemakers. MUSE 2026 is Saturday, August 15, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the Center.
